Global Pet Expo is the largest North American trade show for the pet care sector. This year’s show had 835 exhibitors and featured more than 3,000 new product launches. A total of 4,691 pet equipment buyers attended from around the world including independent retailers, distributors, mass-market buyers and other qualified professionals.

Organised by the American Pet Products Association (APPA) and Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA), Global Pet Expo 2012 will present the latest, most innovative pet care products on the market today. More than 800 companies from across the world – including 150 first-time exhibitors - will showcase products for all types of pet including dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, small animals and horses. With 62 per cent of American households owning at least one pet, this is your opportunity to break into a market valued at $50 billion.

Apply now to join the British exhibitor group at Interzoo

Interzoo is by far the most important overseas exhibition for the British pet care industry. Staged every two years in the ancient German city of Nuremberg, it holds an unrivalled place in the trade fair calendar. At last year’s fair, there were 95 British firms among the 1,498 exhibitors displaying pet food, grooming aids, accessories and services over an expanse of 90,800 square metres.

PetQuip is once again organising a British pavilion at Interzoo. We are offering an inclusive deal which takes in a prime location for the British pavilion at the front of Hall 9 together with a comprehensive stand package designed so that exhibitors can just turn up and display their products. The package includes floor space, walls, carpet, lighting, fascia panel, table, chairs, counter, electricity and daily stand cleaning. Firms can choose to exhibit in other areas of the show if they prefer and still benefit from our full support.

Based on an exchange rate of £1:€1.12, the cost of the stand package is about £248 per square metre, plus a mandatory charge made by the organisers for the Communications Package of £430 and the early bird PetQuip management fee (£410+VAT for members of PetQuip; £590+VAT for non-members).  
 
We will be bidding for grant funding under UK Trade & Investment’s Tradeshow Access Programme (TAP) to help British exhibitors offset the cost of stand space and construction. The TAP scheme offers cash grants to eligible small to medium sized enterprises that are ‘New to Export’ or have been exporting for less than 10 years. Under current TAP rules, those requirements are waived where the applicant has not attended the previous edition of the show.

We expect the number of TAP grants on offer will be strictly limited, so would-be participants in the British exhibitor group should apply now to avoid disappointment.

PetEx 2012 - Ireland’s national show for pet retailers

PetEx is to become a biennial event for the vibrant pet care industry in Ireland. The country’s only trade show for the sector is also moving to a new central location in Dublin offering exhibitors and visitors a convivial relaxing and informal environment to do business, network and meet industry colleagues. The next edition of the two day show will be staged in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin on 5-6 September 2012, with the organisers aiming to attract key players in the pet care industry including suppliers, brand owners and manufacturers looking to increase their market share in Ireland.

A recently published Euromonitor report highlights the resilience of the €380 million Irish pet care industry. It says that despite overwhelming evidence of a dramatic fall in consumer confidence, one of the few areas in which Irish consumers appear unwilling to cut their spending significantly is on their pets.
